I wantot know that how much zakat should I pay for $10,000. Can a father pay zakat to his married daughter whos financial posiiton is not well and can a sister pay to her sister.
!. First of all you have to know the Nisab. So if the realistic price of a dinar is say $100 then the nisab at 20 dinars would be $2,000. Therefore $10,000 is above this so on the face of it Zakat is payable.
If you have $10,000 dollars held for over one year then the Zakat payable would be 2.5% or one fortieth ie. $250
HOWEVER, if you look at the fqh of Zakat and other articles on this site as well as the Zakat Assessment form then you will see that it is not straightforward as some other factors need to be taken into account.
2. Again, as pointed out in the article “zakat- A question of Muslim Leadership” it is not for us to pay the Zakat ourselves but that it should be collected by a local Muslim leader who distributes it locally to whoever fits the categories

A working person buys a piece of land for investment purpose, but loses his job after he has paid for the land. The land was bought with clean money (money on which zakaat was paid)
He now does not have the money to develop the land nor
to pay the zakaat on the land. what is he supposed to do sell the land or wait until he has the money.

In the UK there are many charities such as Muslim Aid, Helping Hands and Islamic Relief. I suggest you contact them as they have many international aid programmes. Of course I hope they do not confuse zakat with much needed and praiseworthy aid work and general sadaqa.
